Senior Men’s Basketball Update –  

February 2010

On Feb 5-6 the Senior Men's Basketball team went to Hamilton to take part in the Ontario Christian Secondary School tournament. After winning games against Smithville, Brampton and Great Lakes Christian High Schools in the preliminary rounds, the men went on to play Chatham in the semi finals and won that game. The men then went on to face Guido de Bres Christian High School from Hamilton in the final and won that too. Congratulations to the Men's Basketball team for a great weekend.

On Friday Dec. 11 the Senior Men's basketball team won the annual Purple and Gold Classic tournament at Robert Bateman High School.  The day started early with a win over the host team by a score of 56-44. Next the men played against Oakville Trafalgar winning 68-56.  Finally, an exhausted team reached deep into their reserves to pull out a convincing victory over Milton District by a score of 77-57.  Strong defense and a quick start by team captain Drew Hebb set the tone for the game.  In the final 3 quarters the Cavaliers' run and gun offense and stifling defense proved to be too strong for the team from Milton.  Every person contributed to the tournament win, thanks to those who came out and cheered the team on.
