King's provides a complete and appropriate technical setting for the students and staff. The intent is to equip the students with the skills and experience necessary for the needs they will meet in either the post secondary or working worlds. While it is impossible to attempt to be leading edge in all facets of the continually evolving marketplace, it is possible to establish a high level of competence with the tools and concepts found in our technologically sophisticated society…. in fact, we concluded that doing so was a mission objective. Staff is expected to use computers wherever appropriate and warranted to prepare and deliver course materials. It is important that we do not use computers or software just for the sake of doing so, but that where they have proven by experience to improve the students’ learning, we take advantage of them. Furthermore, some of the core curricula require the use of computers.

With the goals of the program established, the solution pointed to was widespread, if not universal, access to computers throughout the school and throughout the academic program. This distribution is physical as well as programmatic, because, for practical reasons, rooms without computers quickly become subjects without computers.
